• Conserves water
• Reduces green waste
• Eliminates chemical fertilizers
• Uses beneficial insects and low-toxicity pesticides
• Mitigates fire hazards
• Preserves natural areas
• Enhances wildlife habitat
• Uses trees for climate control around buildings
• Reduces use of fossil fuels
• Harvests rainwater
• Uses on-site materials
• Reuses and recycles materials
• Contains pest- and disease-resistant plant varieties
