Storing Pumpkins

Follow these timely tips for storing an early-ripening pumpkins for the Halloween celebration.

To store any early-ripening pumpkins for the Halloween celebration, simply wash them down with a damp cloth, then dry completely and place on cardboard in a very dry, cool and dark place. Most pumpkins will store for two to three weeks.

Wiping the skin with a mixture of 1 part bleach to 10 parts water, then drying well, will also help to prevent rot or mildew.
