Mint Plant

Easy to grow and easy to use - that's the upside of having a mint plant in your garden. However, it does have a bad reputation for spreading, so if you want to keep it from multiplying, plant it in a pot and water regularly.

Mint is a fresh, clean-tasting herb, and natural breath freshener, which is why it is so often an ingredient in toothpaste.

Mint can also be used in sweet dishes - a fresh fruit salad is better for the addition of some finely chopped mint.

And of course, it is a favourite flavouring for tea. Steep fresh or dry mint (quantity to taste) in boiling water for four or five minutes before serving with a slice of lemon, or sugar to taste.
