Can I install a pond in an area where there are a lot of trees?
Linda Kovacs, In nature, ponds and trees go together like ham and eggs.
Yes, you will have more leaves in the pond but, by the same token, the shade provided by the tree(s) will help minimize the algae bloom in the summer. Furthermore, if you have a skimmer sucking the top quarter inch of water from the top of the pond, it will pull most of the leaves and related debris into an awaiting net.
So, don’t worry about trees and ponds. They’re fine together.

Hello
I am searching for a fairly large evergreen of a strange shape or plant, this is to plant at the Marjorie Willoby Snowden Hospice house for our son who is there to finish of his time left before he passes away from his cancer. He wishes us to find a tree to plant there in his honour before he dies and we can't find anything this early in the season and do not know how long he has. His first choice was a Monkey Puzzle Pine but he now knows it would not survive here in Kamloops.
Do you know of a tree perhaps 6 or 7 ft tall now for planting, he wants something different than a normal Pine or Cedar tree?
